About Yivara

I'm Yvonne — the Yoga teacher behind Yivara Yoga.

I've been practising Yoga for over 15 years, or so I thought. It turns out I was practising Asana (the physical practice) which is only one of eight limbs of what Yoga truly is.

I came to teacher training to deepen my own practice and to reclaim a part of myself during a demanding season of life. Stepping onto my mat always gave me an instant sense of calm — my own small oasis where I could find stillness, even briefly, amid the fast-paced rhythms of modern life. What I didn't expect was an awakening to what Yoga really is: the understanding and mastery of the mind, and the profound impact that practice can have, not just on yourself, but on those around you.

If there is one thing to know about the ethos of Yivara Yoga, it's this: Yoga is for everyone. If you think Yoga is only for those who are young, flexible, or already fit, I'm here to tell you that is a myth. Every body is unique, and when you step onto the mat, my invitation to you is to turn your awareness inward, meeting yourself exactly where you are, with compassion and without judgement.

I teach Hatha-based Yoga, where flows combine Hatha and Vinyasa styles weaving movement and breath together to help you anchor in the present moment and find ease in both body and mind. My aim is to help you shift your nervous system from fight-or-flight, where so many of us spend too much of our time, to rest and digest. When you step off the mat, my hope is that you do so feeling a little lighter and a little calmer, carrying that energy with you into the rest of your day.

Classes are held in Drumcondra in Dublin — all levels welcome.

In love and light,

Yvonne x
